Warco WM14B Milling Machine

Overview

The WM14B is a small belt drive milling machine with a DRO.

Machine Features:

  • Belt drive, poly vee, very quiet operation

  • Two step pulley ensures maximum torque in low speed setting
  • Infinitely variable speeds from 100 - 3000 rpm
  • Head tilts plus or minus 90°

  • Precision spindle supported on taper roller bearings
  • Adjustable gibs to all slideways
  • Rack and pinion drill feed
  • Locks to head, column and slideways
  • Fine feed
  • Digital depth gauge with metric/imperial calibrations

Please read all of the information below:

  • You must not wear loose clothing, or clothing that has dangling string or cords when using this machine. Getting entangled in the machine will likely result in death or serious injury before you have time to react.
  • You must wear eye protection when operating this machine. Metal work pieces may chip and small bits of near molten swarf can fire towards you. Eye protection is provided in the makerspace.
  • For the same reason, you should consider wearing long sleeved clothing when operating this machine.
  • If someone enters the room while you are operating the mill, turn it off immediately. Distractions can lead to accidents, full concentration is required for safe operation of the mill.
  • The belts on this mill can not be changed when it is active.
  • If you wish to wear gloves while using the mill, only thin nitrile gloves are allowed, this is because thicker work gloves can get caught in tooling and increase the risk of entanglement injuries.
